WILD LIFE Festival has recently announced HenryJ as the winner of its social media DJ competition.
The event created by Disclosure and Rudimental ran the competition on its Twitter channel stating that the winning DJ would be given a Saturday slot at the festival.
All entries were shortlisted by a panel of local music experts based in Brighton and then the final winner was chosen by Kopparberg UK and Disclosure.
The winning DJ HenryJ, real name Henry Gunter from Shoreham, is a University of Sussex student and will be performing on the new Kopparberg Urban Forest Stage amongst exciting acts such as Gerd Janson,, Horse Meat Disco, Low Steppa, DJ Zinc, and Kideko on 10th June.
Speaking to WILD LIFE about winning the competition and joining the festival line up, HenryJ said:
‘Thank you so much, I’m overwhelmed. I certainly had to read the email back to myself a few times. But I cannot wait to play on Kopparberg’s Urban Forest stage alongside some of my favourite DJs. I first got my love of disco, house and techno music at university, when I started going out in Brighton and experiencing all it has to offer. Some of my favourite and most inspirational DJs include Jackmaster, The Black Madonna, Denis Sulta, Horse Meat Disco and Romare, so it’s amazing to be sharing a stage with some of them. Bring on WILD LIFE 2017!’
The event itself will take place at Brighton City Airport on 9th – 10th June just outside Gearooz HQ.
