  2. Brighton Royal Pavilion After-Dark Production

    Brighton Fringe Festival May 6th – June 5th  2016 takes place each year and is a celebration of all things creative, inspired by local talent. The Festival is open-access and a great opportunity for new and established performers to put on their own Brighton Fringe Event. The festival also consists of workshops, mentoring and bursary programmes, in addition to shows and performances held at wide range of locations around Brighton and Hove.

    2016 Brighton Fringe Festival has a record-breaking 932 shows and events, with more than 200 events free to the public.
    This year the Pavilion has taken centre stage with spectacular after-dark light shows, by performance company Nutkhut. The show was a new commission for the festival and was based on the untold story of the many thousands of men who travelled from India to fight in the First World War.

  3. American Audio VMS5 Has Arrived

    The VMS5 by American Audio is a compact Midi Controller designed for performance minded DJs. This latest model in the VMS DJ controller series is a solid, all-in-one, stand alone mixer with full midi controller capability. The controller enables the DJ to control their software and music from their laptop or alternatively, use the mixer as a traditional analogue stand alone unit with its 6 channels.

  4. Eurovision 2016 – The Technical Side

    Saturday 14th May was the annual Eurovision Song Contest, in which millions of viewers around the world tuned in to watch the 61st edition, held in Stockholm, Sweden.

    The 2016 Eurovision winner was Jamala, representing Ukraine with a heartfelt, politically charged ballad about deportation of Crimean Tartars.

    This year was a new year for the voting system and despite initially starting in the top half of the leader board, the United Kingdom soon plummeted to the bottom, finishing up 24th out of the 26 entries.

    However, following a three hour plus commitment to watching the contest I have now learned some very exciting and interesting facts about the technical aspect of the show. With roughly 10,500 spectators at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm it was recorded that since work initially began on April 4th the venue has in fact sunk 35mm! However, is this really surprising when 109 tons of rigged gear was located in the roof alone?

  5. Gearooz At Plasa Focus Leeds

    This years 2016 Plasa Focus Leeds Show was a successful 8th edition event.

    The show spanned across a two-day period with a variety of Entertainment Industry international brands and representatives. 

    The show took place at the Royal Armouries, New Dock Halls and the Pavilion. Split across three locations; two exhibitor halls and a central marque, visitors were able to access an additional twenty-four stands to previous years.

    Plasa Leeds has proven to be a great opportunity to see a selection of new products on intimate, small scale stands and a chance for one-to-one interaction with brand representatives. The show has been very information and a great opportunity to network, building upon existing industry connections, as well as forming new brand relationships.

  6. Marq Lighting on

    New entertainment lighting brand Marq, launched last year in the US, has announced its global roll-out and we can happily publicize it will be available to order online from us!

    We are very excited to be stocking this new brand, featuring its diverse range of professional lighting including; moving heads, GOBO projectors, PAR and Wash fixtures and effects equipment.

    This new independent brand is owned by inMusic, the company who bought premier DJ equipment brands; Denon, Numark, Alto Professional, Akai Professional, M-Audio and more.

    The new Marq professional lighting initial product range will feature fixtures to suit all areas of lighting and effects for today's modern mobile DJ. The range will include; two haze machines, one LED fog machine, one LED Par can, three multi-beam effects, multiple LED-powered moving spot and beam fixtures and a Rezotube Pack effects package comprising of five LED tubes.
