  1. Mixvibes Introduces Remixlive For Android

    Mixvibes has announced that its Remixlive looping tool is now available on Android. Released earlier this year, Remixlive is a remix tool in which each pad is an instrument loop that allows users to import and edit samples on-the-fly, and it has an interface that makes is accessible to all.

    Equivalent to the iOS version, all the loops, sounds and FX that users trigger are synchronised with each other and users can record and edit their own samples.

    Easily accessible to novice and professional users alike, the app is a great tool for users to create ideas when they are away from their equipment or out and about with friends thanks to its fully functioning mixer and professional audio effects.

  2. Dead Or Alive Frontman Pete Burns Has Passed Away

    Pop Icon Pete Burns has died at the age of 57.

    The lead singer of the British pop group Dead or Alive passed away on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest.

    The news broke through a tragic tweet posted on the pop star’s page on behalf of his loved ones.

    A statement released via social media read: “All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul and will be missed by all those who loved and appreciated everything he was, and all of the wonderful memories he has left us with.”

    The androgynous singer had been public about his ongoing health complications and admitted to having an addiction to cosmetic surgery, having over 300 operations in his lifetime, most of which were on his face.

  3. Technics Launch SL-1200G Turntable

    Earlier in the year Panasonic announced the development of the Grand Class Technics SL-1200G turntable.

    Now it's here and the SL-1200G  has many features including a triple-layer platter, an iron-free direct drive motor that reduces vibration during rotation, and a magnesium tonearm.

    The gold plated phono and ground terminals are made from brass which prevents deterioration of sound quality and allows users to easily connect the cables.

    The SL-1200G is made from 10-mm thick panel of aluminium which sits on top of a three layer cabinet design also made from aluminium, resulting in a much tougher unit.

    Now it’s finally available to purchase and its £2,799 UK price tag has been confirmed. But after concerns over its high costs, Technics CEO Tetsuya Itani has been forced to defend the pricing.

  4. Remixlive Arrives For PC

    Back in June Mixvibes released the Remixlive software for Mac and iOS, it has now recently launched it for PC and it is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Intel Core.

    With touchscreen compatibility, users can hit the pads on the touch screen to trigger samples in a similar way to that of hardware.

    With easier accessibility and reliability, the Remixlive is user friendly and an efficient piece of software

    Users can adjust and modify the BPM of individual samples and sync all factory and important samples to the master BPM. By playing a sample at its nominal BPM it allows Remixlive use it for 1-shot performances therefore using the application like a sampler. Users can even remove, double, or halve the BPM with new MIDI controls and crop samples manually resulting in a more accurate BPM.

  6. Superstar Cast Spotted Outside Gearooz HQ

    Famous former ‘Doctor Who’ actor Matt Smith has been spotted in Sussex outside Gearooz HQ filming for a new Netflix series the “The Crown”.

    Swapping the Tardis for Buckingham Palace, the actor is portraying Prince Phillip and joins a talented cast including Claire Foy who is playing Queen Elizabeth II.

    Caught on camera at Shoreham Airport it seems crews were filming the ‘London airport’ scenes in which Queen Elizabeth landed from Kenya and learnt of the death of her father, King George IV.

  8. Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 Now Compatible With Traktor

    Pioneer DJ has introduced the new 2.11 update for Traktor Pro software that enables Ableton link and they have added DJM-900NXS2 and CDJ-2000NXS2 compatibility, something that users have been waiting for! The Traktor Pro software also has Traktor Scratch compatibility which features in the new launch of Traktor 2.11.

  9. The World's First Levitating Turntable

    Introducing the world’s first levitating turntable, the MAG-LEV (Magnetic-Levitation Audio) turntable uses magnets to suspend the platter during playback leaving your record floating in the air.

    The turntable has a semi-automatic pre-fitted tonearm and cartridge, and the system enables users to setup quick and efficiently.  It has standard 33.3 and 45 rpm speeds that can be switched with just the turn of a button.

    The MAG-LEV also knows when the current record is finished and lifts the needle off the vinyl, a feature the creators claim prolongs the life of you record.

  10. Laser Showcase Evening

    This November on Wednesday 2nd at our Brighton location, Gearooz will be showcasing a laser event that will present great products and exclusive offers. This free event welcomes all members of the public from 6pm onwards to our on-site showroom and will give customers a chance to learn about laser systems and all things related to laser control.

    Throughout the evening there will be interactive demonstrations allowing customers to get hands on and test the equipment they want. The demonstrations include animation and full colour beam demos, and micro and gobo laser presentations. Alongside this there is will be a seminar where the sales team will be discussing “which laser is right for me and how can I control it?”
