  1. BPM | PRO Moving To October For 2017

    The BPM | PRO organisers have announced that the show will return next year on a different date.

    After a successful 2016 event celebrating the 10 year anniversary of BPM back in September, the show will once again take place at its same location of the Genting Arena at the NEC in Birmingham. However the show has been reduced to two days with the confirmed dates for 2017 being Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd October.

    A must-attend event for all mobile DJs, BPM | PRO features a huge exhibition of the latest DJ, PA, lighting, and effects equipment alongside demonstrations and talks from experts in the field. The Arena, PA Experience and the FX Stages will also be making a comeback.

  2. Pop Superstar George Michael Dies Aged 53...

    George Michael has died at the age of 53.

    The singer who rose to fame in the 80, passed on Christmas day due to suspected heart failure, according to his longtime manager, Michael Lippman who received a call on Christmas morning notifying him that Michael had been found "in bed, lying peacefully."  said Lippman.

    His publicist later added, "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.

    Born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, the singer, songwriter and record producer sold more than 100 million records during his lifetime, won three Brit Awards, two Grammys and even collaborated with the artists including Aretha Franklin and Elton John.

  4. SoundCloud DJ Mixes Will No Longer Be Removed

    SoundCloud has announced that DJ mixes will no longer be removed for copyright infringement.

    The company who has now reached deals with licensing groups to stop DJ mixes being removed for free and paying subscribers. Alongside this, listening to music will now be ad-free.

    Previously artists could have their mixes removed or accounts deleted if uploaded music matched material on a database of tracks that copyright holders had asked SoundCloud to block.  

    Eric Wahlforss, the streaming service's co-founder and CTO, stated in an interview: "This means that DJ mixes are now legal and problem-free on SoundCloud. So this is very positive news for DJs. Furthermore, mixes should not be interrupted by advertising."

    Both Apple and Spotify currently offer legal and unofficial mixes so it was only a matter of time before SoundCloud offered this option for DJs too. Overall this is great news for DJs.

  5. Gearooz Christmas Delivery Dates

    Make sure you get you Christmas gifts on time this year by checking our last Christmas delivery dates.

    Monday the 19th of December is the last day for customers wanting international delivery. Please email hello@gearooz.com so the sales team can email you a shipping quote. 

    Wednesday 21st of December is the last day for customers to receive free 1-3 day standard deliveryfree standard shipping. Orders must be placed by 5pm. 

    Thursday 22nd of December is the final day for customers to receive £5 next day delivery in which customers must place their orders by 5pm. Customers can receive a 1 hour delivery slot via email of text.

  8. Akai Professional Launch Wireless Controllers

    A wireless controller has been in demand for some time with many DJs and producers calling for wire-free operation. Now Akai have released two new wireless Bluetooth MIDI controllers, the LPD8 and the LPK25.

    These two new controllers are easily transportable and can be fitted into a backpack or laptop case. Both are battery powered allowing users to have clutter free operation while on-the-go.

    The LPK25 is a twenty five key MIDI keyboard while the LPD8 wireless is an eight pad MIDI controller.

    Both controllers can be connected to iOS or other computer based software for making music and they have a USB connection.

    The models are under £70 and they have four programmable memory banks. The controllers display versatility and flexibility expanding the possibilities for mobile producers.

    The Akai LPK25 and LPD8 will be on sale from next month.
