We all know how important marketing is for the growth of sales, marketing attracts potential customers and in order to get them to buy your music you need all of your platforms to be fresh and relevant. Spotify is a great platform for musicians but not everyone uses it to its full extend, here are a few things you can do to update your profile and marketing strategy in order to gain for streams and customers.

Firstly go over your profile and all your detail, check if they’re up to date and that you’re filling out every section. Your bio is so important yet it’s something we all tend to skip over, you want your audience to know who you are and what you’re about as soon as they click on your profile. Write a short paragraph about your music, what you’ve achieved so far and what you hope to achieve with future content. Don’t forget to let them know that you appreciate their support and thank them for taking the time to listen to your music, be humble.

Along with your details and short description make sure you have consistency, are all your graphics in line with those on your other platforms, are names and dates the same etc. You want audiences to be able to immediately recognize your music through branding, you want to show you’re organized and a professional.  Graphics, photos and your overall online appearance is all a part of your marketing strategy so it’s important to stay on top of it and give it a refresh if needed.

Spotify is not just a handy place to show off your music but it’s great for showing support for other artists. It’s just as important to appreciate those around you as it is to work on yourself, showing that you are just as much of a music fan as a professional will allow audiences to connect with you on a more personal level. Not only this but connecting with musicians through spotify is another way to network and possibly collaborate.

It’s not easy getting noticed on a platform which is so saturated but simply posting music isn’t going to cut it. But if you continue to work hard and dedicate time and effort to marketing yourself and connecting with others then it will pay off.
