Company Ampify has previously created some of the popular music making apps including Launchpad and Blocs Wave and now it has announced its latest creation Groovebox.

A free all-in-one iOS studio app for both the iPhone and iPad, it features two synthesisers and a drum machine, making it a useful tool for producers to quickly create musical ideas on-the-go, and also for DJs who want to dabble in production.

The app comes with a variety of patterns and sound that users can programme or play with using the touch interface. The synths known as the Drum Machine is based on Akai’s MPC, the Retrobass is based on a Moog-style monosynth; and Poly-8, a polysynth that is similar to Roland’s classic Jupiter-8.

Advanced users can get stuck in with adjusting parameters, sequencing drums, and using the mixer and key-lock modes. The app also allows you to export sounds to a laptop or sync them to other Ableton Link-compatible apps wirelessly, too. W
