The industry is constantly moving forward so even at the height of your career it’s important to keep going, to try new things and to be open to new opportunities even if it isn’t in your plan. Up until now you may have stuck to a certain sound or genre, you’ve found success with your music so why change anything. We are officially a week into the New Year and I’m sure many of you are working hard on your new year’s resolutions but for those who might need that extra boost here are a few things you can do to ensure you reach your goals for 2019.
If you’ve set a goal to achieve by the end of the year you may want to first think about how you can split that up into smaller tasks. Setting yourself a huge goal to reach is not impossible and I encourage people to do so but to ensure you have the best chance of completing it I would recommend you break it down into monthly or weekly achievements that will help towards something long term. Remember it will take time so don’t feel disheartened if you aren’t seeing results immediately.
Bring along a friend, creating group goals or having a mutual goal with a friend will help you stay on track. If you have someone who will motivate you and vice versa then you are more likely to keep it up, if you begin to slack then having monthly or weJanuary 08, 2019
With 2018 drawing to an end its time to start thinking ahead to the New Year. For many the prospect of new goals and a fresh start is motivating but for some it doesn’t come so easy. The thought of having a long list of things to accomplish within a year can be stressful and the pressure to succeed can really get you down.
I appreciate that setting goals isn’t for everyone but for those who want to give it a go this is the perfect time to go over your accomplishments of 2018, where you’re in your career and where you want to be this time next year.
