This year’s NAMM show has been a busy one full of product launches and news. If you missed out on attending the show Gearooz are here to update you with the latest product announcements from some of the biggest names in the industry as well as the smaller brands too. 

ADJ Boom Box

ADJ launched two new products being their Boom Box fx1 and Boom Box Fx2 lights. Part of the StarTec Series both the Boom Box fx1 and Boom Box Fx2 lights have 9 built-in lightshows and 63 preset colour combinations. Alongside this both units have 2 DMX channel modes, 3 pperation modes including Sound Active, Show Mode or DMX Controllable and they have no duty cycle allowing them to run all night. 


Chauvet released four new products; The Rotosphere Q3, the FXpar 3, the FXarray Q5 and the COLORband PiX-M USB. All of which have superb colour effects and fantastic capabilities. 

Dubreq Stylophone GEN X-1 

British company Dubreq launched its next generation Stylophone at NAMM 2017 called the Stylophone Gen X-1. The analogue synth includes a separate sound strip among other superb features.

LD Systems MAUI 11 G2

LD systems released the all-in-one PA and monitoring Maui 11 G2 with its custom plug-and-play multi-pin connectors. A complete sound system to carry in one go along with your instrument, the Maui 11 G2 is a compact and portable unit, perfect for the musician or mobile DJ. 

Korg ARP Odyssey FS 

Korg showcased a limited edition full-sized ARP Odyssey. As an alternative to the 86% size ARP Odyssey with its compact slim keyboard, Korg’s ARP Odyssey FS is a full-size model featuring a spacious panel layout with faders that are smooth to operate, and a standard-sized keyboard for excellent playability.

Fender Exotic Collection 

Fender introduced the Limited Edition Exotic Collection, which includes accessories for some of Fender’s most-popular electric instruments: American Professional, American Elite and American Vintage models – all built with a variety of unique woods, such as rescued mahogany, shedua, Malaysian blackwood and reclaimed pine.

Orange Acoustic 

The Orange Acoustic Pre is the company’s first foray into the acoustic pre-amp market. Handmade in the UK, the Acoustic Pre is the world’s first stereo valve acoustic pre-amp and active DI.


Roli released three news products including the Lightpad, the Loop block and the Live block. The Lightpad features a touch-sensitive, glowing interface that lets you control music at the touch of your fingertips. The ROLI Live and Loop blocks are essentially add-on units for the ROLI Lightpad Block. They provide added functionality including the ability to switch scales and octaves, trigger chords and more in real time. The ROLI Live Block unit is ideal for live performances.

Martin Guitar 'Aged' Custom Guitars 

Martin Guitar unveiled its newest technology process, ‘AGED’, with a new custom shop guitar series. The process ‘ages’ a new guitar to replicate the appearance of a classic Martin vintage model.

Denon DJ 

Denon launched three new products as part of the 'prime' series at this year's Namm including the DJ SC5000 Prime, the Denon DJ VL12 Prime , and the X1800 Prime The DJ SC5000 Prime is a digital DJ Media Player featuring high definition, hi-contrast display and multi-touch gestures for track navigation, load and playback. The SC5000 is also the world’s first DJ Player capable of on-board music file analysis.

The Denon DJ VL12 Prime is a superior turntable featuring optimal acoustic isolation capabilities, able to handle any loud, bass-heavy environment. 

Finally the X1800 is a 4-Channel Pro DJ club mixer, familiar in layout but with new and exciting features. The X1800 Prime brings dedicated Sweep and BPM FX controls, delivering multi-themed effects for each channel, giving you even more performance options to craft that unique sound.
